Because our children belong to the Lord
Parent Child Dedication 2022
Sunday, March 6, 2022
Sunday, May 22, 2022
“I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked, so now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given to the Lord.” 1 Samuel 1:27-28 (NIV)
Parent-Child Dedication is a time to publicly commit to put God first in your home and trust Him as your source of direction as you lead your family. It is also a time for you to share your faith in Jesus Christ with your closest friends and family.
Parents and their children will stand in front of the congregation as they receive a special certificate, and a pastor will say a special prayer. On the morning of the dedication, there will be a reserved seating area for parents and the presentation will take place at the beginning of the service.
Families will pre-register online at least one week prior to the ceremony.
During online registration, you will be asked to upload photographs of your child. We suggest having those ready prior to completing the registration form.
During registration you will be asked to select from the following services.
Windermere – 9:30 am & 11:00 am
Lakeside – 9:30 am & 11:00 am
Oakland Service – 9:00 am
Four Corners – 11:00 am
East Winter Garden – 11:00 am
Is Dedication the same as Salvation or Baptism?
No. this dedication is not baptism nor a sign of salvation. Child dedication is a great step for your family, but it is not the same thing as salvation nor baptism. Salvation is what happens when your child makes a personal decision to trust Jesus alone for their salvation, once they have the maturity and ability to understand what that means. Baptism is when they decide to go public with that decision. When you dedicate your child, you’re committing to raise them in an environment where they hear about Jesus and have an opportunity to accept Him.
We’d love to hear about what you’re looking for and can help answer any questions you may have.
